Claire can help! She offers affordable line editing, copyediting, and proofreading services that will make your work shine without losing your individual voice. Claire is able to edit both fiction and nonfiction in a variety of genres, though her strengths lie in fantasy, mystery, and historical fiction. She is not a good fit for erotica or text with excessive violence, self-harm, or swearing. Claire reserves the right to refuse a manuscript for any reason.
LINE EDITING
Line editing smooths out prose to enhance the reader experience. Claire will be looking for passive voice, awkward phrasing, filler words, filter words, repetition, and more. She charges a flat rate of $0.012 per word for this service.
COPYEDITING
This type of editing involves a thorough, line-by-line search through the text for grammar, punctuation, spelling, consistency, sentence structure, and word usage issues. Copyediting is great for novels, novellas, and short stories. Claire charges a flat rate of $0.01 per word.
PROOFREADING
This is the final stage before publication. If you choose this service, Claire will inspect your work for typos, misspelled words, double words, punctuation errors, and grammar errors. This service is great for blogs, novels, website content, and more. Claire uses The Chicago Manual of Style. Claire charges a flat rate of $0.005 per word.
